Attendance

Good attendance at school is essential for a child's education and establishes a positive working ethos in life. At Maybury, we expect every child to attend every day that the school is open, except in a small number of allowable circumstances such as being too ill to attend or being given permission for an absence in advance from the school.

The senior leader with the responsibility for attendance is the Headteacher: Mrs A Grantham.  The Headteacher will work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead: Mrs E Dines to ensure high standards of attendance.

We want to work with our parents and carers to ensure our children really enjoy their learning. Where there are barriers to attendance then we will work with you to ensure that your child gets the best education every day.

Our weekly attendance is displayed in the 'News' section of our website.

What can Parents/Carers do to help?

  • Ensure that your child attends school every day and on time
  • If your child is not well enough to attend, please contact the school by 9:15 am on the first day of absence
  • Try to make dental and medical appointments outside of school time or at weekends
  • Take family holidays during the school holidays. We are unable to authorise term time holidays
  • Contact us immediately if you need help or support with your child's attendance or punctuality

Please note that the school cannot and will not authorise absence for a family holiday. A Leave of Absence taken during term time without authorisation may lead to the issue of a penalty notice or prosecution by the local authority.

If you would like any help or advice about school attendance, please contact Mrs Grantham via the school office.
