Science

'What I love about science is that as you learn, you don't really get answers.  You just get better questions'  - John Green

At Maybury, it is our intention to recognise the importance of Science in every aspect of daily life. We give the teaching and learning of Science the prominence it requires.

Our intent is to give every child a broad and balanced Science curriculum that enables them to confidently explore and discover what is around them, so that they have a deeper understanding of the world we live in. The aim is to develop the natural curiosity of the children by delivering exciting, practical hands on experiences that encourage inquisitiveness and questioning. We aim to deliver stimulating and challenging experiences to help every child secure and extend their scientific knowledge and vocabulary, as well as promoting a love and thirst for learning.

We strive to ensure that our Science curriculum develops learning and results in the acquisition of knowledge and  that enables children to become enquiry-based learners.
